SCOPE OF SERVICE: We were brought onto this project to assist with talent relations and hospitality, and event marketing.
ACTIONS: We managed every aspect of the talent’s stay from arrival into Houston to departure. We created itineraries, organized ground transportation throughout the city, hotel accommodations, entertainment, and any additional need during the festival.
To attract attention from our target audience (high school and college students), our agency organized a high school and college tour. We arranged for the event’s founder, video/film director John “Dr. Teeth” Tucker, to speak about the event and to register students to attend. We also organized a digital PR campaign that sought to use the organizer’s notoriety within the Hip Hop music community to garner attention for the event. We issued a national press release and submitted targeted pitches to various outlets. We also worked with Houston’s top club promotions company to create cross-promoting events highlighting both the event and talent brought in to participate in the event.
RESULTS: Our efforts resulted in the event’s founder speaking at 4 universities and the 2 high schools, including Houston’s renowned High School for Visual and Performing Arts (HSPVA). Our media outreach led to placements with top Hip Hop media outlets including AllHipHop.com and HipHopDX.com. Overall our efforts helped to increase attendance by 35% from the previous year.
